I'm Amy, a freelance copywriter. So nice to meet you!

A little about me (OK, a lot – I’m a sharer)…

Feel free to keep scrolling down to the worky stuff if you’re in a hurry. As my husband would say: “TL;DR”.

Seriously, scroll now if you’re not interested in my hobbies. Otherwise, off we go…

When I’m not sat at my laptop, or on the sofa, you’ll find me outdoors. I walk most days. The majority of my best ideas are thought up on a morning walk – true story.

When I have more time we venture out on longer walks, maybe up a fell, around a lake or through a valley. The Lake District is where my heart belongs. Love a Scottish road trip too. Basically, fresh air and birdsong with a nice view and I’m a happy girl.

I tell people I like gardening, when actually, I just like having a nice garden to sit in while reading gardening magazines.

I love to plan, research and organise. And I do mean LOVE. For this reason I’m usually the designated holiday/trip/party planner – and I’m not angry about it.

Why do I write? Well…I’ve always written, and persuasive writing is something I genuinely enjoy.

I wrote a book of poems when I was nine. It included my personal favourite: ‘If It Wasn’t For Granny‘. My aim was to persuade my parents to grant me more freedom, like walking to Granny’s house alone. I’m not sure I meant for them to be funny but my family found them hilarious. I didn’t mind though…they worked!

On another occasion (as an adult, not a nine year old), when a Facebook group of school parents couldn’t persuade the headteacher to change his mind; I sent an email that did the trick. He approached me in the playground and declared, “Now THAT’S how you write an email!”. Obviously I was really humble and didn’t tell a soul (wink).

And what about professionally?

I have more than 20 years experience as a professional within the realms of science, health and business. Client relations and marketing being two of my preferred areas of expertise, along with problem solving – to the max! I’ve spent decades successfully persuading people to take action, in the nicest possible way, and teaching others to do the same.

I’m a true ‘people person’. I gain the most job satisfaction from growing and maintaining good relationships with those I work with. Having clients return to me time after time because they trust me (and can tolerate my chit chat), that’s what it’s all about.

And that’s why I love writing for businesses: big, small, individuals… assisting them to engage with their customers in ways that build long-lasting relationships …increasing custom and loyalty as a result.

I know that people matter, in every business.

Whether it’s the client I’m working with, or the customer I’m helping them reach out to, I strongly believe that prioritising the individual and their needs builds trust, loyalty, and ultimately – BUSINESS.

Good writing helps us achieve this. Could I provide what you and your business need?

Perhaps you just don’t have the time to write for yourself, you need to put your energy into running your business.

Or maybe it’s just something you don’t enjoy.

I’d genuinely love to help.

Having a professional background I can be concise, direct.

Or if it’s a more creative style you’re after, I can do that too.

Whatever your message, I’ll deliver it in keeping with the voice and tone of your brand.

Would you like to find out if we'd be good together?
